Safe Environment/fingerprinting

The Diocese of Orlando is very sincere about protecting the most vulnerable members of the diocese.  Any volunteer who works with children, the elderly or disabled must be fingerprinted and have background checks.  They are also required to watch a short video about "Creating a Safe Environment" and pass a quiz on the topic. The clearances must be renewed every 5 years.  Although there are others, examples of the ministries requiring this are Ministry to the Sick, Religious Education, Neighborhood Network, and Ushers. Everything except the actual fingerprinting is now done electronically, on-line.

If you volunteer in one of the ministries listed above, or feel you may need to be fingerprinted because of other ministry involvement, please contact the church office.  We will send you the instructions and track the clearances for our parish.
